Understanding ROI
Return on Investment (ROI) measures how much profit you make relative to your investment. It answers: "For every dollar I invest, how much profit do I make?"
ROI Formula: (Net Profit ÷ Total Investment) × 100 = ROI %
Why it matters: ROI helps you evaluate which products, campaigns, and investments are worth your time and money. A 50% ROI on a $1,000 investment means you make $500 profit. Always compare ROI across different investments to allocate resources wisely.

Critical ROI Insights
- Compare ROI across products: Always allocate resources to your highest-ROI products first.
- Include ALL costs: COGS, fees, PPC, shipping—everything reduces your net profit and ROI.
- Negative ROI kills businesses: If your investment loses money (-ROI), stop investing and investigate.
- ROI vs payback: High ROI is meaningless if payback takes 3 years. Watch both metrics.
